Hangul Alfabesi

Hangul alfabesi, Korece'nin temel yapı taşlarıdır. Sesli harfler (ünlüler) ve sessiz harfler (ünsüzler) bir araya gelerek kare şeklinde heceleri oluşturur. Bu sistem ilk bakışta karışık görünebilir ama aslında oldukça mantıklıdır.

Temel sesli harflerden bazıları şunlardır: ㅏ(a), ㅓ(eo), ㅗ(o), ㅜ(u), ㅡ(eu), ㅣ(i). Sessiz harflerden bazıları ise şöyle: ㄱ(g), ㄴ(d), ㅈ(j), ㅂ(b), ㅇ(ng). Tense consonants olarak adlandırılan ㄲ(kk), ㅆ(tt) gibi harfler daha güçlü telaffuz edilir.

İlginç bir nokta, ㅇ (ng) sesinin özel bir durumu olmasıdır. Bu harf kelimenin başında sessiz kalır ve sadece sesli harflere taşıyıcılık yapar. Örneğin, ㅇㅏ "a" olarak okunur. Korece'de sesli harfler asla tek başlarına yazılamazlar!
