Trablusgarp Savaşı (1911-1912)

İtalya'nın sömürgecilik hırsı Kuzey Afrika'daki Osmanlı topraklarını hedef aldığında, Mustafa Kemal gazeteci Şakir Bey kimliğiyle, Enver Paşa ise Hacı Hamdi Bey olarak gizlice bölgeye gittiler. Yerel halkı örgütleyerek Derne, Tobruk ve Bingazi'de başarılı savunma hatları kurdular.

Osmanlı askerleri büyük bir direniş gösterse de, İtalyanların On İki Ada'yı ve boğazları işgal etmesi, ayrıca Balkan devletlerinin soruna dahil olması nedeniyle Osmanlı anlaşma yapmak zorunda kaldı. Uşi Antlaşması ile Osmanlı Devleti Kuzey Afrika'daki son topraklarını kaybetti.

Savaşın en dikkat çeken özellikleri arasında tarihte ilk kez savaş uçaklarının kullanılması ve Mustafa Kemal'in ilk askeri başarısını elde etmesi sayılabilir. Antlaşmada bölge halkının dini açıdan halifeye bağlı kalacağı belirtilerek kültürel bağların korunması amaçlandı.
