İttifak Devletleri $Almanya, Avusturya-Macaristan, Osmanlı, Bulgaristan$ ve İtilaf Devletleri (İngiltere, Fransa, Rusya) olmak üzere iki büyük blok karşı karşıya geldi. İtalya başta İttifak Devletleri'nde yer alırken, sonradan taraf değiştirdi.
