Enlace Químico

El enlace químico es una energía de interacción entre los electrones de diferentes átomos. Esta fuerza permite que los átomos se unan formando compuestos estables que encontramos en la naturaleza.

Todos los compuestos químicos que existen son el resultado de reacciones donde se forman estos enlaces. Por ejemplo, cuando el sodio (Na) y el cloro (Cl) se unen, forman un enlace químico que da como resultado el cloruro de sodio o sal de cocina que usamos todos los días.

En los átomos tenemos partículas con diferentes cargas: los protones (carga positiva), los neutrones (sin carga) y los electrones (carga negativa). El sodio, por ejemplo, tiene un número atómico (Z) de 11, lo que significa que tiene 11 protones en su núcleo.

💡 ¡Dato curioso! Los enlaces químicos son como "amistades atómicas" - algunos átomos se atraen tanto que "deciden" compartir o transferir electrones para mantenerse unidos.
