Fases de la División Celular

La división celular comienza con la fase G1 donde la célula crece y sintetiza proteínas. Luego pasa a la fase S donde duplica su ADN y los centriolos. En la fase G2 produce ATP y prepara todo para dividirse.

La división principal ocurre en cuatro etapas. Durante la profase, la cromatina se condensa y los centriolos se dirigen a los polos opuestos formando el huso acromático (hecho de tubulina). En la metafase, los cromosomas alcanzan su máxima condensación y se alinean en la placa ecuatorial.

La anafase es cuando ocurre la ruptura del centrómero y la disyunción cromosómica, separándose las cromátidas. Por último, en la telofase desaparece el huso acromático, se reorganiza la carioteca y la cromatina se descondensa.

💡 ¿Sabías que? Durante la metafase los cromosomas están tan condensados que es el momento perfecto para realizar estudios de cariotipo, que sirven para detectar alteraciones genéticas.

El proceso termina con la citocinesis, la división del citoplasma mediante un anillo de actina que se contrae desde el exterior hacia el interior (centrípeta). El gen P53 y las quinasas son importantes reguladores de todo este proceso.
