¿Alguna vez te has preguntado cómo simplificar expresiones con muchos exponentes? Las leyes de potenciación son tu mejor aliado para esto. Cuando multiplicamos potencias de igual base, simplemente sumamos los exponentes: bmbn=bm+nb^m \cdot b^n = b^{m+n}. Por ejemplo, x3x2=x5x^3 \cdot x^2 = x^5.

Al dividir potencias de igual base, restamos los exponentes: bmbn=bmn\frac{b^m}{b^n} = b^{m-n}. Esto funciona incluso con exponentes negativos, como en y6y8=y2\frac{y^6}{y^8} = y^{-2}. Y cuando elevamos una potencia a otra potencia, multiplicamos los exponentes: (bm)n=bmn(b^m)^n = b^{m \cdot n}.

También es importante recordar que cualquier número (excepto 0) elevado a cero da como resultado 1, y que un exponente negativo invierte la expresión: bn=1bnb^{-n} = \frac{1}{b^n}. Estas reglas te ayudarán a simplificar expresiones complejas.

💡 Truco de estudio: Para recordar si los exponentes se suman o restan, piensa: "Mismo nivel (multiplicación) sumo, diferente nivel (división) resto".
