Cuando te enfrentes a una integral compleja, puedes usar varios métodos para simplificarla. La descomposición elemental te permite separar la integral en partes más sencillas usando la propiedad:

(af(x)+bg(x))dx=af(x)dx+bg(x)dx\int (a f(x) + b g(x)) dx = a \int f(x)dx + b \int g(x)dx

Para fracciones racionales (donde tienes un polinomio dividido por otro), existen técnicas específicas según el grado del denominador:

  • Con denominador de grado 1: max+bdx=malnax+b+k\int \frac{m}{ax+b} dx = \frac{m}{a} ln|ax+b| + k
  • Con denominador de grado 2: depende de las raíces del denominador
    • Si hay 2 raíces reales simples: se descompone en fracciones simples
    • Si hay 1 raíz real doble: también se descompone, pero de forma diferente

💡 Recuerda que f(x)f(x)dx=lnf(x)\int \frac{f'(x)}{f(x)} dx = ln|f(x)| es una fórmula muy útil que aparece frecuentemente en exámenes.

La integración por partes es otro método poderoso para expresiones como productos. Se basa en la fórmula:

udv=uvvdu\int u dv = uv - \int v du

Para aplicarla correctamente, debes elegir sabiamente qué parte será "u" y cuál será "dv":

  • Para "u" escoge funciones fáciles de derivar (ln, log, polinomios)
  • Para "dv" escoge la parte más grande del integrando que puedas integrar fácilmente
  • Las funciones como ef(x)e^{f(x)}, sen f(x), cos f(x) generalmente van en dv
