Imagínate que tienes que crear placas con 2 letras y 1 dígito. Con 26 letras del alfabeto y 10 dígitos (0-9), podrías hacer 26 × 26 × 10 = 6,760 placas diferentes. Esto es solo el comienzo de lo que puedes calcular.

Las combinaciones son arreglos donde el orden NO importa. Si tienes que elegir 3 personas para un equipo, da igual si escoges primero a Ana, Juan y María, o a María, Ana y Juan - es el mismo equipo.

La fórmula mágica es: C^n_k = n!/nkn-k! × k!, donde n es el total de elementos y k es cuántos elementos quieres en cada grupo.

Combinaciones con y sin Repetición

¿Cuántas combinaciones de helado de 3 bolas puedes hacer con 7 sabores diferentes? Aquí sí puedes repetir sabores, así que usas la fórmula con repetición: n+r1n+r-1!/r!×(n1)!r! × (n-1)! = 84 combinaciones diferentes.

Para el caso sin repetición (como seleccionar 3 sabores distintos de gaseosa de 6 disponibles), usas la fórmula básica: 6!/(3! × 3!) = 20 combinaciones.

La diferencia es simple: con repetición puedes elegir el mismo elemento varias veces, sin repetición cada elemento solo se puede usar una vez.
