Parabol Temelleri ve Tepe Noktası

Parabol denklemi f(x) = ax² + bx + c şeklinde yazılır ve grafiği U şeklinde bir eğridir. Parabolün en önemli özelliklerinden biri tepe noktasıdır.

Tepe noktasının x koordinatı (apsisi) r = -b/2a formülüyle bulunur. Bu değeri fonksiyona yerleştirerek y koordinatını da bulabilirsin. Tepe noktası T(r,k) olan parabolün denklemi y = a $x-r$ ² + k şeklinde de yazılabilir.

Parabolün başkatsayısı a çok önemli: a > 0 ise kollar yukarı bakar, a < 0 ise kollar aşağı bakar. |a| büyüdükçe parabol daha dar hale gelir.

Simetri ekseni x = r doğrusudur ve parabolün köklerinin tam ortasından geçer. Bu çok pratik bir bilgi!
