Pil tepkimeleri ekzotermik denge tepkimeleri olduğunu unutma! Bu demek oluyor ki dengeyi ürünler yönüne kaydıracak her etki pil gerilimini artırır.
Derişim etkisi en sık sınavda çıkan konu. Katıların derişimi değişmez, sadece iyonların derişimi önemli. Cu²⁺ iyonu derişimi artarsa denge ürünlere kayar ve pil gerilimi artar. Aynı şekilde Zn²⁺ iyonu derişimi azalırsa yine pil gerilimi artar.
Çöktürücü iyon eklemek derişimi azaltır. Anoda çöktürücü iyon eklenirse pil gerilimi artar, katoda çöktürücü iyon eklenirse azalır. Su eklemek de derişimi azaltır ama tuz eklemek artırır.
Sıcaklık arttıkça pil tepkimeleri ekzotermik olduğu için denge girenlere kayar. Sonuç: pil gerilimi azalır. Bu kural her zaman geçerli!
