(Rosado continuo)

¿Qué son Was y Were?

Por ejemplo: "You were dancing" o "She was making dinner".

Diferencias entre Was y Were

Aunque was y were significan lo mismo, cada uno se usa con pronombres específicos. No es complicado, solo tienes que memorizarlo.

Was se usa con: I, He, She, It Were se usa con: You, We, They

Ejemplos súper claros: "He was playing today" vs "They were talking about me". ¿Ves la diferencia? Was para una persona, were para varias.

💡 Recuerda: Was = singular (excepto "you"), Were = plural (y "you")

"My brother was doing his homework" - aquí hablas de una persona (él), entonces usas was. "My friends were drinking soda" - hablas de varias personas (ellos), entonces usas were.

Con "It" siempre usas was: "It was my favorite YouTube channel" o "It was the best party". El "it" es para cosas, no personas.

💡 Truco mental: Si puedes reemplazar el sujeto por "he/she/it" usa was. Si puedes usar "they" usa were.

Forma Negativa

Para decir que NO estabas haciendo algo, simplemente agrega "not" después de was o were. Así de fácil.

"I was not running in the classroom" o "They were not writing in the book".

Haciendo Preguntas

Para hacer preguntas, mueves el was o were al inicio de la oración. La estructura cambia a: Was/Were + pronombre + verbo con -ing + complemento + ?

Ejemplos: "Was he raining?" o "Were they walking?".

Es como voltear la oración: de "You were crying" a "Were you crying?". Simple y efectivo para cualquier situación.

💡 Práctica: Toma cualquier oración en pasado continuo y mueve was/were al inicio para convertirla en pregunta.
