- The bock is on my desk.
-he was born on the kith day of May in 199

Geçmiş Zamanla İlgili Zaman İfadeleri

İngilizce'de geçmiş zamanı anlatırken belirli zaman ifadeleri kullanırız. Bunlar:

  • Yesterday morning/afternoon/evening Du¨nsabah/o¨g˘len/aks\camDün sabah/öğlen/akşam
  • Ago ile yapılan ifadeler: three days ago (üç gün önce), ten minutes ago (on dakika önce)
  • Last night/Saturday/summer/August Gec\cengece/Cumartesi/yaz/Ag˘ustosGeçen gece/Cumartesi/yaz/Ağustos

"To be" fiilinin geçmiş zaman halleri was ve were olarak karşımıza çıkar:

  • I/She/He → was / wasn't
  • You/We/They → were / weren't

İpucu: Geçmiş zamanla ilgili cümlelerde zaman belirteci (yesterday, last week, two years ago gibi) görmek, o cümlenin Simple Past Tense'de olduğunu anlamanı sağlar!

Örneğin:

  • Yesterday, Ahmed was at school, he wasn't at home.
  • I wasn't in İzmir two weeks ago. I was in Istanbul.
  • The students weren't in the bus, they were in the school garden.

Soru yapısında:

  • Were you in the class yesterday? → Yes, I was. / No, I wasn't.
  • Where were you? → I was at home.

Düzenli ve Düzensiz Fiiller

Geçmiş zamanda fiilleri iki gruba ayırırız: düzenli ve düzensiz fiiller.

Düzenli fiiller genellikle fiilin sonuna -ed veya -d ekleyerek yapılır:

  • like → liked
  • enjoy → enjoyed
  • watch → watched
  • study → studied
  • cry → cried
  • play → played

Düzensiz fiiller ise belirli bir kural izlemez, ezberlemek gerekir:

  • think → thought
  • drink → drank
  • write → wrote
  • go → went
  • read → read (okunuşu "red")
  • have → had
  • put → put (değişmez)

Önemli Not: Düzensiz fiillerin geçmiş hallerini düzenli olarak pratik yapmak, onları daha kolay hatırlamanı sağlar!

Örnekler:

  • Yesterday I came to school late.
  • She visited her grandmother two days ago.
  • The students were in the science lab last lesson.

Geçmiş Zaman ve Gelecek Zaman İfadeleri

Geçmiş zaman örnekleri:

  • They spent the holiday in Bodrum last week.
  • My mom cooked the meal yesterday.
  • I enjoyed the party last night.

Gelecek zaman için "going to" ve "will" yapılarını kullanırız:

  • I'm going to make a delicious dessert for dinner tonight.
  • I will answer the door.
  • Look out! It is going to rain soon.

Simple Present Tense (Geniş Zaman) kullanımı:

  • She doesn't study regularly so she is lazy and she gets bad marks.
  • Do you listen to pop music in your free time?
  • They usually go on a picnic at the weekends.

Hatırlatma: Zamanları ayırt ederken cümledeki zaman belirteçlerine dikkat et! "Usually, always, every day" gibi ifadeler geniş zamanı; "yesterday, last week, ago" gibi ifadeler geçmiş zamanı gösterir.

Geniş zaman kullanımında 3. tekil şahıslarda (he, she, it) fiillere -s/-es eklemeyi unutma:

  • She speaks English because she is English.
  • We don't go to school on Sundays.
  • Does he work late on weekdays?

We thought you’d never ask...
