Participio Activo (Presente)

¿Sabías que el participio activo griego es como tener un verbo y un adjetivo en una sola palabra? Se forma añadiendo las terminaciones específicas al tema de presente del verbo.

Las terminaciones siguen el patrón -ων (masculino), -ουσα (femenino) y -ον (neutro) en singular. En plural cambian a -οντες, -ουσαι y -οντα respectivamente. Cada género se declina por todos los casos como cualquier adjetivo.

Este participio puede traducirse de varias formas: como gerundio ("corriendo", "hablando"), como oración de relativo ("que corre", "que habla") o simplemente como adjetivo. La clave está en el contexto de la frase.

💡 Truco: Memoriza primero las terminaciones del nominativo singular (-ων, -ουσα, -ον) y el resto te resultará más fácil de recordar.

Participio Medio-Pasivo

El participio medio-pasivo es tu aliado para expresar acciones que el sujeto realiza sobre sí mismo o que recibe de otro. Sus terminaciones son más regulares que las del activo: -μενος, -μενη, -μενον.

A diferencia del participio activo, este sigue la declinación de los adjetivos de tres terminaciones más común. En plural tendrás -μενοι, -μεναι y -μενα. Se declina exactamente igual que cualquier adjetivo normal.

La gran ventaja de este participio es su versatilidad: puede expresar voz media (el sujeto actúa sobre sí mismo) o voz pasiva (el sujeto recibe la acción). Como el activo, se traduce como gerundio, oración de relativo o participio según el contexto.

💡 Consejo: La terminación -μενος es mucho más fácil de reconocer que las del participio activo, así que úsala como punto de partida para identificar participios en los textos.
