Addition property of equality | If a=b then a+c=b+c

Properties of Equality

When working with equations, you can perform the same operation on both sides without changing the equality. The Addition Property states that if a=b, then a+c=b+c. For example, if 10=10 and we add 5 to both sides, we get 15=15, which is still true.

Similarly, the Subtraction Property allows us to subtract the same value from both sides: if a=b, then a-c=b-c. The Multiplication Property lets us multiply both sides by the same number, and the Division Property allows division by any non-zero number while maintaining equality.

Some properties describe the nature of equality itself. The Reflexive Property simply states that any number equals itself a=aa=a. The Symmetric Property tells us that if a=b, then b=a, while the Transitive Property says if a=b and b=c, then a=c.

Quick Tip: Think of equations as balanced scales. Whatever you do to one side, you must do to the other to keep the balance. These properties are your tools for solving equations while maintaining that perfect balance!

The Substitution Property is especially useful in algebra - if a=b, you can replace a with b in any equation. Understanding these properties will make solving equations much easier as you progress in your math journey.

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.

This app is really great. There are so many study notes and help [...]. My problem subject is French, for example, and the app has so many options for help. Thanks to this app, I have improved my French. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.

The Properties of Equality are fundamental rules that help us manipulate equations while keeping them balanced. These properties allow us to solve equations by performing the same operations on both sides, ensuring that whatever we do, the equation remains true.
