Dominios climáticos: El clima mediterráneo
¿Sabías que la mayor parte de España tiene clima mediterráneo? Este tipo de clima abarca todo el territorio al sur del clima oceánico, incluyendo las Baleares, Ceuta y Melilla.
Lo que más caracteriza al clima mediterráneo son sus precipitaciones moderadas o escasas (menos de 800 mm al año) que llegan de forma irregular. Las lluvias son más abundantes en otoño y primavera, mientras que el verano suele ser bastante seco.
Existen tres variantes principales que debes conocer para los exámenes. El mediterráneo marítimo se da en las costas y tiene temperaturas suaves todo el año (el mes más frío no baja de 10°C). El mediterráneo continentalizado domina el interior peninsular y presenta inviernos más fríos con heladas frecuentes. Por último, el mediterráneo subdesértico del sureste es el más árido, con menos de 300 mm de lluvia anual.
Truco para recordar: Cuanto más te alejes del mar hacia el interior, más extremas serán las temperaturas entre verano e invierno.
La zona más seca de España está en Cabo de Gata, donde apenas llueve 150 mm al año, casi como un desierto. Esto ocurre porque las montañas Béticas bloquean las borrascas atlánticas que traen la lluvia.

El impacto del cambio climático en España
El cambio climático ya no es cosa del futuro: está pasando ahora mismo en España. Según la AEMET, la temperatura media ha subido 1,7°C desde la época preindustrial, y eso es mucho más de lo que parece.
Los datos son preocupantes pero importantes de conocer. Recibimos un 19% más de lluvia torrencial desde 1960, lo que explica las inundaciones que vemos en las noticias. Los glaciares del Pirineo se están derritiendo y los mares se calientan cada vez más.
Las consecuencias ya las estamos viviendo: más muertes por olas de calor, especialmente entre personas mayores con problemas respiratorios. También pueden llegar enfermedades tropicales como la fiebre del Nilo, la producción agrícola se ve afectada y hay más incendios forestales cada verano.
Dato importante: Se prevé que la temperatura de España aumente otros 1,9°C más en las próximas décadas.
La buena noticia es que se pueden tomar medidas de adaptación y mitigación. Esto incluye reducir los gases de efecto invernadero, mejorar los sistemas de alerta temprana y apostar por la educación ambiental. El trabajo coordinado entre administraciones es clave para afrontar este reto.
