Geografía física mundial

El mapa mundial está dividido por líneas imaginarias como el Ecuador, los Trópicos de Cáncer y Capricornio y los Círculos Polares que nos ayudan a orientarnos. Los océanos ocupan la mayor parte de la superficie terrestre, siendo los principales el Glacial Ártico, Atlántico, Pacífico, Índico y Glacial Antártico.

Los grandes sistemas montañosos forman el esqueleto de los continentes. En América destacan las Montañas Rocosas al norte y la cordillera de Los Andes al sur. En Asia, el imponente Himalaya alberga el Monte Everest, el punto más alto del planeta. Otras cadenas importantes son los Urales, el Cáucaso y los Montes Altai.

Los ríos son arterias vitales para las civilizaciones. Entre los más importantes están el Amazonas en Sudamérica, el Mississippi-Missouri en Norteamérica, el Nilo y el Congo en África, y el Volga, Indo y Amarillo en Asia. También destacan grandes masas de agua como los Grandes Lagos norteamericanos, el Mar Mediterráneo y el Mar Caspio.

💡 ¡Dato curioso! El Monte Everest, conocido como "el techo del mundo", sigue creciendo aproximadamente 4 mm cada año debido al movimiento de las placas tectónicas.
