Torque y Rotación

El torque (τ) es la magnitud física que produce rotación en un objeto y se calcula multiplicando la fuerza aplicada por la distancia al eje de rotación: τ = F × R. Piensa en ello como el "empujón giratorio" que hace que las cosas roten.

Para determinar si el torque es positivo o negativo usamos la regla de la mano derecha: el dedo índice apunta en la dirección del radio, el corazón en dirección de la fuerza, y el pulgar indica la dirección del torque. Si el pulgar "entra" al cuaderno o tablero, el torque es negativo.

Es importante recordar que no todas las fuerzas generan torque. Las fuerzas aplicadas directamente sobre el eje no producen rotación. Además, las fuerzas perpendiculares al radio generan torque máximo, mientras que las fuerzas paralelas al radio no generan torque alguno.

💡 Dato clave: El movimiento de rotación solo ocurre cuando la fuerza se aplica en diagonal o perpendicular al radio, nunca cuando la fuerza va directamente hacia o desde el eje.
