Símbolos y Valencias de los Elementos

Los símbolos químicos son como el "nombre corto" de cada elemento, y las valencias nos dicen cómo se comportan cuando forman compuestos. Piénsalo como las reglas del juego que sigue cada elemento.

Los elementos del Grupo 1 (como Li, Na, K) siempre tienen valencia +1, mientras que los del Grupo 2 (Be, Mg, Ca) siempre tienen +2. Es súper fácil: el número del grupo = su valencia positiva.

Los no metales como el oxígeno (-2) y el flúor (-1) tienen valencias negativas fijas que debes memorizar. El carbono puede ser -4 o +4, dependiendo de con quién se junte.

Los metales de transición como el hierro (Fe) y el cobre (Cu) son los más traicioneros porque pueden tener varias valencias. El hierro puede ser +2 o +3, y el manganeso tiene hasta 5 valencias diferentes.

Truco clave: Los grupos 1 y 2 nunca te fallarán - su valencia siempre coincide con su número de grupo.
