La fuerza eléctrica entre dos cargas se calcula con F=KQqR2\vec{F}=K \frac{Qq}{R^2}, pero cuando quieres saber la fuerza sobre una carga en un campo, usas F=q.E\vec{F}= q.\vec{E}. La clave está en que para la intensidad del campo eléctrico E=KQR2\vec{E}=K \frac{Q}{R^2}, no sustituyes los signos de las cargas.

Para la energía potencial tienes Ep=KQqREp=K \cdot \frac{Qq}{R} (aquí sí sustituyes los signos), que también se puede expresar como Ep=q.VEp= q.V. El potencial eléctrico es V=KQRV=K \cdot \frac{Q}{R}, y el trabajo realizado se calcula con W=ΔEpW= -\Delta Ep o W=q.ΔVW = q.\Delta V.

Truco clave: Recuerda cuándo sustituir signos y cuándo no. En campo eléctrico NO, en energía potencial SÍ.

La constante K=14πϵ0K= \frac{1}{4 \pi \epsilon_0} aparece en todas las fórmulas, y para superficies planas el campo es E=σ2ϵ0E= \frac{\sigma}{2 \epsilon_0}.
