¿Qué es la Densidad?

La densidad es simplemente cuánta masa tiene una sustancia en un volumen determinado. Piénsalo así: es como medir qué tan "apretadas" están las partículas de un material.

La fórmula es súper directa: ρ = m/V (donde ρ es densidad, m es masa y V es volumen). Las unidades más comunes son kg/m³ y g/cm³, y convertir entre ellas es fácil: divide por 1000 para ir de kg/m³ a g/cm³, o multiplica por 1000 para el camino contrario.

Valores típicos de densidad que debes recordar: el agua tiene 1 g/cm³ (perfecto para comparar), el hielo 0.92 g/cm³ (por eso flota), el oro 19.3 g/cm³ (súper pesado) y el hidrógeno apenas 0.09×10⁻³ g/cm³ (súper liviano).

💡 Tip clave: Si la densidad es menor que 1 g/cm³, flota en agua. Si es mayor, se hunde.

Fórmulas de Volumen para Figuras 3D

Para calcular densidad necesitas el volumen, y estas fórmulas geométricas te van a salvar en los problemas:

Figuras básicas: El cubo es la más fácil V=a3V = a³, y el prisma rectangular también es directo V=abcV = a·b·c. Estas dos las vas a usar montones en los ejercicios.

Figuras circulares: La esfera usa V = (4/3)πr³, el cilindro V = πr²h, y el cono V = (1/3)πr²h. Nota que el cono es un tercio del cilindro con la misma base y altura.

Para pirámides: V = (1/3)b·c·h, donde b y c son los lados de la base rectangular. También es un tercio del prisma equivalente.

💡 Truco de estudio: Practica estas fórmulas con objetos de tu casa - mide una lata (cilindro) o una caja (prisma) para ver la densidad en acción.
