Campo Eléctrico y Fuerzas Electrostáticas

La ley de Coulomb nos explica cómo interactúan las cargas eléctricas. Esta ley establece que la fuerza electrostática es proporcional al producto de las cargas e inversamente proporcional al cuadrado de la distancia: F=kq1q2r2F = k \frac{q_1 q_2}{r^2}. Si las cargas tienen el mismo signo, la fuerza es repulsiva; si tienen signos diferentes, es atractiva.

Cuando tenemos más de una carga, aplicamos el principio de superposición: la fuerza total es la suma vectorial de todas las fuerzas individuales $\vec{F} = \vec{F_1} + \vec{F_2} + ...$. Este mismo principio se aplica al campo eléctrico creado por varias cargas.

El campo eléctrico en un punto se define como la fuerza por unidad de carga: E=Fq=kqr2\vec{E} = \frac{\vec{F}}{q} = k \frac{q}{r^2}. Podemos visualizarlo mediante líneas de campo, que nunca se cruzan entre sí y cuyo sentido depende del signo de las cargas.

El potencial eléctrico $V = k \frac{q}{r}$ nos indica el trabajo por unidad de carga. Las regiones donde el potencial tiene el mismo valor forman superficies equipotenciales.
