Present Simple vs Present Continuous

Timpurile prezent în engleză ne ajută să descriem acțiuni care se întâmplă acum sau care se repetă regulat. Vom învăța cum să le formăm și când să folosim fiecare timp.

Sfat util: Gândește-te la Present Simple ca la rutinele tale zilnice, iar la Present Continuous ca la ce faci chiar acum!

Formarea Present Simple

Present Simple are o formă simplă pentru majoritatea persoanelor. Doar persoana a treia singular $he/she/it$ primește terminația -s/es.

Forma afirmativă: I work, You work, He/She/It works, We work, They work

Forma negativă: I don't work, He/She/It doesn't work

Forma interogativă: Do I work? Does he work?

Răspunsuri scurte: Yes, I do/No, I don't. Yes, he does/No, he doesn't.

Folosirea Present Simple

Present Simple se folosește în mai multe situații importante:

Pentru stări permanente, acțiuni repetate și rutine zilnice: El lucrează la un hotel. El aranjează mesele și servește cina în fiecare zi.

Pentru adevăruri generale și legi ale naturii: Plouă rar în deșert.

Pentru orarele trenurilor, avioanelor și programele TV: Avionul spre Paris decolează la 6:50 dimineața.

Reține: Present Simple este timpul "normal" al limbii engleze, cel pe care îl folosim cel mai des!

Reguli de ortografie pentru Present Simple

Atunci când adăugăm -s la persoana a treia singular $he/she/it$ , trebuie să ținem cont de câteva reguli:

La majoritatea verbelor adăugăm doar -s: work → he works

La verbele terminate în ss, sh, ch, x, o adăugăm -es: watch → she watches, miss → misses

La verbele terminate în vocală + y adăugăm -s: play → plays

La verbele terminate în consoană + y schimbăm y în i și adăugăm -es: try → tries, cry → cries

Expresii de timp pentru Present Simple

Present Simple folosește expresii care arată frecvența unei acțiuni:

Adverbe de frecvență: always (întotdeauna), usually (de obicei), sometimes (uneori), often (des), never (niciodată)

Exemplu: Întotdeauna mă trezesc la ora 7 dimineața.

Alte expresii utile: every day/week/month $în fiecare zi/săptămână/lună$ , on Mondays (lunea), in the morning (dimineața), at night (noaptea), at the weekend (în weekend)

Important: Adverbele de frecvență se plasează de obicei înaintea verbului principal, dar după verbul "to be": I always walk to school. I am sometimes late.

Present Continuous se formează cu verbul auxiliar to be + verbul principal + -ing.

Present Continuous se folosește în situații specifice:

Pentru acțiuni care se întâmplă chiar acum sau temporar: Helen lucrează din greu zilele acestea. Chiar acum citește un ziar.

Cu always când vrem să exprimăm iritare față de acțiuni care se întâmplă prea des: Tu mereu uiți să plătești facturile.

Pentru acțiuni planificate în viitorul apropiat, când ora și locul au fost deja stabilite: Ana se căsătorește la ora 3 în această după-amiază.

Atenție: Când folosim "always" cu Present Continuous arătăm că ceva ne deranjează, spre deosebire de Present Simple unde "always" e neutru.

Când adăugăm terminația -ing la verbe, urmăm aceste reguli:

La majoritatea verbelor adăugăm doar -ing: draw → drawing

La verbele terminate în -ie, schimbăm în y + ing: lie → lying, die → dying

La verbele terminate în -e, eliminăm e și adăugăm -ing: dive → diving, make → making

La verbele scurte cu structura consoană + vocală + consoană, dublăm consoana finală: run → running, swim → swimming, hit → hitting

Pont util: Dacă poți adăuga "acum" lângă verb, probabil ai nevoie de Present Continuous!
