Coğrafya Temelleri: Biyosfer ve Haritalar

Dünyamızdaki yaşam alanı coğrafi ortam olarak adlandırılır. Bu ortam doğal ve beşeri (insan) ortamların birleşiminden oluşur. Dünyamızı oluşturan katmanlar arasında Biyosfer (Yaşam Küre), Atmosfer (Hava Küre), Litosfer (Taş Küre), Kriyosfer (Buz Küre) ve Hidrosfer (Su Küre) bulunur.

Dünya üzerinde konumları belirlemek için enlem ve boylam koordinatlarını kullanırız. Enlem, bir noktanın Ekvator'a olan uzaklığının açısal değeridir. Boylam ise bir noktanın başlangıç meridyenine olan uzaklığının açısal değeridir. Bu koordinatlar derece (°), dakika ('), saniye (") birimleriyle gösterilir. Örneğin: 30° 52' 33" Kuzey - 100° 02' 01" Doğu.

Dünyada zaman hesaplaması için yerel saat ve ulusal saat kullanılır. Yerel saat, güneşin ufuk düzlemi üzerinde en yüksek noktaya ulaştığı zaman diliminin öğle vakti (12.00) olarak belirlendiği saattir. Ulusal saat ise bir ülke içindeki zaman karışıklığını önlemek için kullanılır.

Dikkat! Türkiye'de 45° doğu meridyeninin yerel saati, ortak saat (ulusal saat) olarak kullanılır. Kanada, ABD, Rusya ve Avustralya gibi geniş ülkelerde ise aynı anda birden fazla saat dilimi kullanılır.
