Endokrin Sistem ve Bezleri
Endokrin bezler, hormonları doğrudan kana salgılayan kanalsız bezlerdir. Bu bezler ürettikleri hormonları kan yoluyla hedef organlara gönderirler. Hipofiz ve tiroit bezi en önemli endokrin bezler arasındadır.
Hipofiz bezi, hipotalamus tarafından kontrol edilen ve vücutta "ana bez" olarak bilinen önemli bir endokrin bezdir. Ön lop hormonları arasında Büyüme Hormonu (STH), kemik gelişimini ve protein sentezini hızlandırır. Az salgılanması cüceliğe, fazla salgılanması ise devliğe neden olur. Tiroit Uyarıcı Hormon (TSH) tiroit bezini uyarırken, ACTH böbrek üstü bezini etkiler.
Üreme sisteminde FSH ve LH önemli rol oynar. FSH kadınlarda yumurta üretimini, erkeklerde sperm oluşumunu desteklerken, LH kadınlarda ovulasyonu sağlar ve erkeklerde testosteron üretimini düzenler. Hipofizin arka lobu Oksitosin (doğum ve süt üretimi) ve ADH (su dengesi) hormonlarını salgılar.
⚠️ ADH hormonu az salgılandığında şekersiz şeker hastalığı oluşur ve kişi çok su içmesine rağmen sürekli susuzluk hisseder.
Tiroit bezi, Tiroksin ve Kalsitonin hormonları üretir. Tiroksin, iyot içeren ve metabolizma hızını artıran önemli bir hormondur. Çocukluk döneminde az salgılanması zeka geriliği ve boy kısalığına yol açar. Kalsitonin ise kan kalsiyum düzeyini düşürerek kemik sağlığını korur.
