ホルモンの作用と病態生理
ホルモンは体の様々な機能をコントロールする化学物質だ。脳下垂体前葉からは成長ホルモンやプロラクチン、甲状腺刺激ホルモンなどが分泌される。副腎からはアドレナリンなどのカテコールアミン、卵巣からはエストロゲンやプロゲステロンが出ているんだ。
ファロー四徴症は先天性心疾患の一つで、生後1〜6ヶ月の間にチアノーゼで発症することが多い。症状として、生後2〜3ヶ月で無酸素発作、4〜6ヶ月でばち指が現れ、2歳以降は蹲踞姿勢や発育障害が起こる。
心タンポナーデは心臓のまわりに液体が貯まって心機能が低下する病気だ。がんの心膜転移や外傷が原因となることが多く、中心静脈圧の上昇と心拍出量減少が特徴的な病態生理となる。
ランゲルハンス島の細胞には3つのタイプがある。α細胞はグルカゴンを分泌して血糖値を上げ、β細胞はインスリンで血糖値を下げてグリコーゲン合成を促進する。δ細胞のソマトスタチンは他のホルモン分泌を抑制する働きを持っているよ。
